Department of Social Work

Overview

The Department of Social Work is started with Post Graduation in the year 2023. A career in social work is all about giving and helping others in need. The programme uses an inter-disciplinary approach in analyzing important social issues and concerns, with an emphasis on equity and justice. The students are well-trained to execute a range of social work activities with right spirit and to address the needs of weaker segment of the society for sustenance of quality life. The specializations offered are human resource management, medical and psychiatric social work, and community development at the post-graduate level. The curriculum has three components like theory, field visit and research.

  • To prepare competent and compassionate social work professionals
  • To shape and produce graduates who can understand the vulnerability and their social needs
  • To impart the significance of inclusiveness among graduates
  • To build the networking capacity among students for synchronization of government and nongovernment organisations with the intent of social well being
